Umrah Visa Documentation & Requirements

Muslims can perform Umrah at any time throughout the year, providing flexibility for those wishing to undertake this pilgrimage.
Visa Application Process
To obtain a visa for Umrah, applicants must go through an approved travel agent specializing in Umrah services. For a list of accredited agents, please visit almakkah.co.uk.
Visa Requirements
  1. Visa Application Form: Complete the original visa application form, ensuring to read and sign the statement at the end. To receive a form by mail, send a large self-addressed envelope to your nearest Saudi Consulate.
  2. Proof of Faith: If the applicant has a non-Muslim name, they must submit a certificate from a mosque or Islamic center verifying their Muslim identity.
  3. Photograph: Attach one recent passport-sized color photograph with a white background. The photo should be a full-face view directly facing the camera; side views are not accepted.
  4. Passport Validity: Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of application submission.
  5. Flight Ticket: Provide a confirmed and non-refundable airline ticket, with departure from Saudi Arabia scheduled within two weeks of entry.
  6. Accompaniment Requirement: Women and children must be accompanied by a husband, father, or male relative (Mahram). Proof of relationship is necessary (e.g., marriage certificate for wives, birth certificate for children). The Mahram must travel on the same flight as the family.
    • Note: Women aged 45 or older may travel without a Mahram if they are part of an organized group and have a notarized No Objection Certificate from their Mahram.
  7. Residency Permit: Non-nationals must submit a valid residency permit along with their application.
  8. Vaccination Certificate: A vaccination certificate against Meningococcal Meningitis is required, issued no more than three years and no less than ten days prior to entry into Saudi Arabia.
Visa Validity
The Umrah visa is valid for two weeks only. Pilgrims must perform Umrah within this period and ensure their departure from Saudi Arabia occurs within two weeks of entry. Notably, visas issued for Umrah during Ramadan must be used before the end of Ramadan; pilgrims cannot remain in Saudi Arabia for Eid-ul-Fitr.
Visa Fees
While Umrah and Hajj visas are free of charge, travelers will still incur costs for services rendered in Saudi Arabia. For additional information about companies offering Umrah services or guidelines for pilgrims traveling to Saudi Arabia, please refer to almakkah.co.uk.
